War Of Words Not OK In This Life?

Now chatting with: Kourtney

Kourtney10:43 PM

Hi Joseph, this is Kourtney! How are you?

Joseph10:44 PM

Good. What was the War In Heaven?

Joseph10:47 PM

Hello?

Kourtney10:48 PM

That is a great question! Can I ask you what prompted your curiosity in this topic?

Joseph10:50 PM

A friend mentioned it.

Can I ask what makes it a great question?

Kourtney10:51 PM

It is just good to be curious and learn more about it

Joseph10:53 PM

Can you tell me more about it?

Kourtney10:54 PM

I would be happy to! Can I ask if there is anything you already know about it?

Joseph10:56 PM

Before this life we were spirits and we had a war, but because we did not have bodies it was a war with physical violence. What kind of war was it?

Kourtney10:57 PM

That is right! So since we were spirits, this was a war of words. This took place after plans were presented before us from both Jesus Christ and Satan. This war of words was to decide which plan we would follow. Does that make sense?

Joseph11:00 PM

Yes. War of words, so it was like an argument?

Kourtney11:00 PM

So it was more like a discussion between the 2 plans that were presented

Joseph11:01 PM

Discussion not a war? I am confused.

Joseph11:03 PM

"War" of words so likes much greater than an argument. It sounds huuuge

Kourtney11:03 PM

We do not know exactly what it was like, but we do know that the 2 plans were heavily discussed and it was very involved for both sides.

Joseph11:07 PM

"heavily discussed" and "very involved" but not a "war of words"? I do not understand. A moment ago it was "war of words" and it was just an energetic discussion. Why the sudden change?

Kourtney11:14 PM

Well when most people hear the word 'war' they think of weapons and bloodshed, but we know this was not the case. Sometimes other words such as 'discussion' or 'council' are used to signify that it was not physical but intellectual.

Joseph11:20 PM

That is odd. Usually the word "words" heavily emphasizes that it was not at all about physical bloodshed. But "war of words" makes one think of something much greater than an argument. Discussion or council sounds like no disagreement at all, but a deliberative process of cooperation to come to a mutual agreement. So it is really odd that you say it is all about distinguishing physical verses intellectual. So which was it? A process of cooperation or a massive argument?

Kourtney11:23 PM

Well unfortunately I have to go, but you can read more about it here if you would like. Have a great night! https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics/war-in-heaven?lang=eng

Joseph11:24 PM

So interesting you refused to answer the question.

Joseph11:25 PM

It is almost like you think there is a contradiction in a war in heaven being acceptable, but arguing unacceptable.
