Hi Miles, this is Lauren and Reika. How can we help you today?
Miles 6:58 PM
Question. Where in the New Testament does Jesus lay his hands on the head of a follower to confer priesthood?
Lauren 6:59 PM
That is a good question. Please give us a second :)
Reika 7:07 PM
Sorry we are still looking for the specific scriptures!
Lauren 7:14 PM
Are you still there?
Miles 7:15 PM
Yes. Are you still looking?
Reika 7:18 PM
We found Act 8:14-20.
Reika 7:19 PM
It says Apostles had a power to give the gift of the Holy Ghost by laying hands to people's heads.
Miles 7:20 PM
That is not what I asked. So you thought such a scripture should have existed, but to your surprise you discovered there is no such scripture. Correct?
Lauren 7:24 PM
We are not sure if it says about this in the Bible, but we also believe in The Book of Mormon because the Bible doesn't have the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ
Miles 7:26 PM
What?! "The Bible doesn't have the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ"?!!!
Miles 7:27 PM
Are you only here to take people's faith in the Bible away?
Lauren 7:28 PM
Sorry, I meant fullness
Miles 7:30 PM
What does fullness mean?
Lauren 7:30 PM
We believe that the Bible is the word of God, but the Bible had been translated more 100 times and men took away parts of the Bible.
Miles 7:33 PM
What is missing from the Bible, specifically?
Reika 7:35 PM
For example, how to baptize people in a correct way or how the church organizations should be.
Lauren 7:38 PM
There are so many things that we need to know and do to be saved.
Miles 7:38 PM
You don't believe the New Testament when it says people should be baptized by immersion?
Reika 7:37 PM
We believe that. Actually we perform baptism by immersion. But we don't believe that baby should be baptized.
Miles7:39 PM
"So many things"? - Faith in Jesus is not enough?
Lauren7:42 PM
The baptism should be performed by someone who has the Priesthood authority of God.
Miles 7:44 PM
And the New Testament does not say this?
You believe the New Testament says that it does not matter which Christian baptizes another Christian, but Mormon scripture says it does matter which Christian baptizes another. Is that correct?
Lauren 7:49 PM
Hey Miles, if you really want to know about the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day you could pray about it. If you have a true desire to find out for yourself , I would say that if you talk with God, you will receive an answer just like we did.
Miles 7:52 PM
Did my question make you uncomfortable?
Lauren 7:52 PM
Not really, it just seems that you want to argue and our purpose is to help people come closer to Christ
Miles 7:54 PM
I am sorry you feel that way. Why do you think you feel that way?
Miles 7:54 PM
Have I ask something that was not about coming closer to Christ?
Lauren 7:55 PM
So what were your expecting to get out from this chat?
Miles 7:56 PM
Simple answers to basic questions about coming closer to Christ.
What were you expecting?
Reika 7:58 PM
